The End... and the Beginning
FPRA Blog Week 2006 has ended, surpassing all expectations. But don't take our word for it, look at the numbers. In the past seven days:
• 948 unique visitors participated, including:
• Visitors from 32 states, and
• 20 countries.
• 19 articles were posted,
• Generating 80 comments and
• Receiving 4,081 page views.
In addition to this traffic, FPRA Blog Week 2006 was discussed and applauded on several other blogs and websites.
So now what?
We definitely plan to host FPRA Blog Week 2007 sometime next year. If you would like to help, either through planning and promoting the event or by writing an article, send an e-mail to Josh or Bob. We also would appreciate your feedback about this year's event. What did you like? What could be improved? What topics would you like to read next year? Please share your ideas in the comment section or via e-mail.
But beyond an annual blog week, we hope FPRAblog can be so much more. That is why we registered a domain name without the word "week" in it. FPRAblog should last more than just one week. Perhaps it could include monthly white papers or serve as a site for hot topics. We'll leave those decisions to the powers-that-be. Clearly, FPRAblog provides an ideal forum for PR practitioners in Florida (and beyond) to discuss relevant issues. Do you agree?
We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the experts who contributed articles. Without their participation, there would be no FPRA Blog Week 2006. It takes courage to write about a topic that will be reviewed by your peers. We admire the authors who volunteered their time and we appreciate them sharing their expertise with the rest of us.
Which brings us to our final remark. Thank you for joining us for FPRA Blog Week 2006. We hope you enjoyed it, we hope you learned something, and we hope you will help us keep the momentum going.
Warm regards,
Bob and Josh
