Why Conference is Important to Me
In just a few short days, the 2006 FPRA State Conference will begin. I attend conference every year, and I'm looking forward to this conference more than ever before.
This year's conference has a great line-up of speakers, but to be candid, that doesn't really matter to me. As a member of the Orlando Chapter of FPRA, I hear great speakers every month. The reason why the FPRA State Conference is so important to me is because there is no other opportunity to network with PR professionals from across the state at the same time and in the same place. That is the value of FPRA, and therefore the value of State Conference. No matter what business you are in, knowing other PR professionals from other markets is beneficial.
In addition to the networking opportunities, I also benefit from the energy that is present at conference each year. Being around other top-notch talent helps to motivate me. And again, no other venue provides that energy and motivation more than the FPRA State Conference.
I think every FPRA member should attend the conference. But I am also fully aware that some cannot due to work schedules or financial reasons. That is why I agreed to participate on the conference blog team. Although FPRA Blog cannot replace the networking and energy of actual attendance at the conference, I hope it helps provide an opportunity for all FPRA members to participate. And the more members that are involved, the better it is for the entire Association.

I'm thrilled the conference is being blogged this year! FPRA is really showing some forward thinking with this idea. I've been to 5 or 6 conferences, but can't attend this year because I'm having a baby. I'm so looking forward to reading about sessions, listening to podcasts and keeping in the loop. I appreciate the opportunity to still participate in conference!
