Bosses Appreciation Day

Bosses Appreciation Day

Posted by Jeff Nall, APR on October 18, 2006 at 02:08 PM

The Pensacola Chapter is turning the October chapter meeting on Thursday, October 19 into our first Bosses Appreciation Luncheon. With October 16 being National Bosses Day, we have a special luncheon planned to recognize them and their support of FPRA and the professional development of their practitioner(s). We also want to thank them for allowing their practitioner(s) to represent their organization in the best professionial organization in the area.

Members have been encouraged to treat their boss to lunch and a special presentation geared to bosses titled "The rise of internal PR: How to turn your greatest expense into your greatest profit." Our presenter, Chief People Officer Greg Mercer of American LubeFast, and the company's first CPO, is responsible for overseeing the Chaplain program, initializing a mentoring program and managing employee retention and relations.

We are looking forward to expressing our appreciation as we educate our bosses about the benefits of FPRA, accreditation, and our members. Can't hurt with membership renewals either. Keep your fingers crossed and I'll report in.

Jeff:
That is a super idea. So many people do not understand PR and believe it or not neither do the people we work for. I feel this would be a great educational forum and fun for the group. Please let me know if members invited their employers and how successful it was.
thanks
