The next launch attempt for Space Shuttle Discovery will be at 8:47 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9. Friday's weather forecast is predicted to be a 90 percent chance of "no go" so NASA officials moved the next attempt to Saturday.

That's the latest news LIVE from the Kennedy Space Center. Signing off for now...

Although the launch was scrubbed on Thursday evening, FPRA volunteers have provided vital assistance to the Kennedy Space Center and NASA public affairs through our work at the Media Center.

Journalists from around the world were assisted by our members to cover the launch. FPRA members provided much needed assistance for the hundreds of requests that come in by the minute during launch week. Each volunteer funded their own travel, overnight hotel accomodations and meals in order to have the experience. We all should be proud of the positive impression these volunteers leave on the space agency and their staff.

Hats off especially to Bill Randolph of the Orlando Area Chapter who coordinated the schedule of volunteers, making it easy for NASA to keep track of their helpers, and to Jessica Rye, APR with NASA who convinced her team of the value of having professional public relations assistance provided by these volunteers.

I'd also like to send special thanks to Bill for working so hard to coordinate the FPRA volunteers. We appreciate that you're so dedicated to making our experience valuable.
